Effects of Corona on our services to you
The situation and new measures regarding COVID-19 (Corona) changes almost by the day. The Expat Center East Netherlands will keep you posted about the effects of the measures on our services.
Should you have any questions, please contact us.
The residence passes of our clients have been transported to one of the main offices of the Immigration Service IND in Zwolle. Clients can only get an appointment for collection of their first residence pass. Main requirement is that the client has travelled to the Netherlands with an MVV (temporary permit) and needs the residence pass for starting a health insurance or for registration and obtaining the BSN. You can only contact the IND by phone (not online) for making this appointment: 088 04 30430.
The employees of the het Expat Center are working from home, so are still available for answering your questions i.e. regarding collecting your residence pas. Consult our team by mail or phone.
Municipality of Enschede will not schedule new appointment until the end of April for first registration. Contact the Expat Center about alternative possibilities.
The Immigration Service IND will only make appointments in case of emergencies and only at their main offices (for the east of the Netherlands this is Zwolle). Appointments can be made only by calling via 088 04 30430.
The city of Enschede will keep its doors open and will register new migrants in order to obtain the BSN. Normally people would receive the BSN during the appointment at the Welcome Center. From now, the BSN will be send to you the next day by post.
The Immigration Service, IND, has decided today NOT to send their personnel to the expat centers at least until 6 April (including). This means that at our location at the Municipality Hall (Stadskantoor) the services of IND are not available. Until further notice no first residence passes, extended passes, VA stickers will be issued and no biometrics will be taken. Also the permits for Search Year visa will not be issued.
All clients with appointments until the 6th of April have been informed.
The municipality of Enschede will maintain their services of issuing the social security number (BSN). The current appointments will remain as scheduled.
The employee of the Expat Center will not be present in the Stadskantoor as from March 23, until further notice. People having an appointment for registration can report to the front desk in the Stadskantoor themselves.
The events organized by the Expat Center are cancelled until further notice. This concerns the Information Evening on Taxation of March 17th and the Expat Meet&Greet of April 2nd .
